Planning Board Considers Dean Foods Plans, Zoning Issues
The regular meeting of the Huntley Planning Commision was called to order at 7:10pm on October 10 by Chairman Rohlwing. Present were Commissioners Domagalski, Schachtner and Hahn. Also present were Mayor Dhamer and Administrator Nelis. Sept.   12,  1994  Minutes

Mr. Wayne Donahue, property owner, presented his plan to the commission to move his home from the present location to a wooded area one block away. The property under consideration is identified as 11712 and
11714 Mill Street (the two houses next to the tracks). Dean Foods is interested in the subject property for expansion of their facilities, with rezoning to M-1. Mr. John Knippen, plant manager of Dean Foods, presented a conceptual drawing to the commission. They are considering expansion with a

Huntley Redskins Lose Final Home Game

The Huntley Redskins played their final home game of the year Friday night. It was a night to honor the seniors on the team. The fans showed their appreciation but Rockford Lutheran did not. The final score was Rockford 48; Huntley 6.
Watching pre-game warmup gave me an uneasy feeling about the game. Rockford has one of the biggest and fastest teams I have seen at high school level in a long time. Huntley linemen gave up anywhere from 60-80 pounds per man to the Crusaders. This team looked like a small college team.
The sise difference did not stop the Redskins from giving
a good effort. There were some bright spots. The seniors were obviously trying to make one more great play to remember when they hang up their cleats next week. Jamie Rosenthal, Curt Pippenger, Ty Thompson and Mark Wright pounded into the solid front of Rockford. Jim Origer started at center and did a good job blocking despite giving up 80 pounds to the defensive linemen. Stuart Liegel gave a credible effort at defensive end, and he was giving up over 100 pounds to some of the Crusader linemen. Bryan Hoist played both defensive and offensive end. He not only caught passes but threw them too. He had a great
effort Friday night. Matt Geary played both offensive and defensive line. His strong play on defense helped make him the leading Redskin tackier. Matt Robisky had several chances to return Rockford kick-offs and he did a great job with every one of them. His full speed ahead running baffled Rockford. He took one of the returns 86 yards for Huntley's only score. These seniors have given us a very exciting year. They should be proud of what they have done this year. THANKS to all of you from all of Huntley.
The Redskins will play their final game of the year at Hiawatha, Saturday at 2pm.

Trinity Youth Enjoy Unique Hunt

Have you ever participated in a photo scavenger hunt?
Last Sunday afternoon, Oct. 16, the Trinity Youth set forth in three groups to take ten pictures of their team members doing "unique" things. A few strange looks were given as leam members rushed through the grocery store to meet with items to make a balanced breakfast, take a picture and rush out. One group thought a balanced Iveakfast was four different kinds of cereal. There goes the points guys!
Final scores were very close.
Two teams tied with 5,700 points each, the other team having 5,600. The winning team was then determined by who reached home base first. The women's team was sure they had won when they pulled into the empty driveway. They were soon to find that to be a wrong assumption, as they heard "We are the Champions" blasting over the tape players and the car being bombar(ted by the A leam. They said they had l)een back for a half hour. We can only believe them.

Boy Scout Cabin Dedicated Tiiis Weekend
On Sunday, October 23; Huntley Park District will be sponsoring the dedication of the Boy Scout cabin, dedicated to the memory of "lifetime Lion," Charles "Chuck" Lamb, at 2pm in the
afternoon. The Boy Scouts and the Lions Club will be present and a short program will be held. Refreshments will be served. The public is invited to attend.
