Description | This 3-part interview includes the introduction, transcript and audio file of Buffy Parr Crouse, a 2003 graduate of Graham Hospital School of Nursing who was interviewed for the School’s oral history project on 3-3-2008. Biographical Summary: As she states in the beginning of her interview, “I chose a in nursing because I wanted a profession that rewards are endless.” While working as an LPN at Coleman Clinic, Ms. Crouse career decided to continue her nursing education at Graham, pursuing an RN diploma. Following graduation, she worked in a pediatric ICU, for St. Jude’s in oncology, and also in an acute care setting before her current position as an orthopedic nurse. Interview Highlight: Ms. Crouse’s sense of humor served her well throughout her education and career. “One of the reasons my sister went into nursing is because I have such good stories to tell about nursing. Then I told her I made half of them up!” She makes numerous references to dorm life and the “dreaded care plans.” |
