Reports from special committees were heard: J. Bowman on the pro¬ posed hotel, Walter Maas on uniform flag display, E. H. Arbnthnot on boulevard stops. N. E. Prince, tor the Red Cross, ,. brought up 'the matter of subscrip¬ tions for the Clay county drive for relief of the tornado diatrlct of Southern Illinois, and flI2 was aigned up. It was voted to bave Presi- .tfent Grant take up with city eoun- '«U the matter of Indiscriminate so¬ liciting of relief funda and to notify ¦ tbe council that the Red Croas waa tbe only proper persons to solicit.
