One of the most enjoyable, gather¬ ings among Flora fraternal orders (luring the season was Xbe Royal Arch Masons' banquet at the Masonic Temple last Friday night. All local members and their ladles were Invit¬ ed to appear at the hall at 7 o'clock sharp. It being known that a big banquet was to be given at that hour, there no derelicts, besides It wa^ understood that Ernest Taylor, Dr. E. A. Hopkinson and D. F. Hedges composed . the refreshment oommittee. ^nrlth Rex J. Cunningham, Msryl Gahan, Harold Hogan and Elarl I^klns were to serve the guests and ttiat none of these, gentlemen ever stunted any stunt they pulled off. The seventy whe were seated at the tables were dellghtad but not surprised to see such a spread. One lady remarked, that "every thing was sumptuous" and It was tor the menu of roast turkey with dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy escoUoped oystersij delicious rolls celery, followed with date pudding and whipped cream and cof¬ fee, prepared by the Wheeler rest¬ aurant. But this was not all, at the close of an hour delightfully spent laAatisft'lng the inner man Charles E. HempblU; the toastmaster, called tof silence and with pleasing rhymes his own make, announced the names of the speakers and subjects. H. F. The Flpra Chapter has a member¬ ship of one hundred and Is in b. prosperous condition. Its territory embrasses all of Clay county anS the northem part of Wayne.

A loving tribute was psid to the memory ot our late beloyed .inevber, Mrs. Ruth Golden-Oahan, who a year ago passed to her reward In the Great Beyond.
A contribution of $31.00 was made by the members of the class to be sent to the starving chtldren of En- r6»e. •
Owing to the Sunday Schsol Board organizing a class of youag men of whom they were desirous of having Mr. Hemphill take charge, the class released him as teacher.
Mr. Hemphill has been the teacher of this class for the past fifteen years and It is with keen and sincere re¬ gret the class loses him as a teacher. '" Mrs. Ethel Tonney. a *nember o^ tbe class, was chosen as successor to Mr. Hemphill.

In a letter renewing subscription, C. M. Filson, the hustling C. 4k. E. I. agricultural agent, ot Salem, in speaking of Clay county farmers' drive to establish a CotitUy Farm Bu¬ reau, says:
"Almost every week I note some article In regard to the organization of the farm bureau. Cannot figure out tbe delay. We have every county from Chicago to the river with an or¬ ganization, except one, therefore I know something of the benefits.
"Jumped over Into Hamilton Coun¬ ty yesterday to start the work going ,for an organization there, so you see Clay county will soon be numbered as the last one to go over the top. "Wouldn't that be a shame?"

MOUNT VERNON, III., January 21 —Ouy Kyle, former rector of the Free Methodist ^iburch here, on whose property Post Office, inspect¬ ors today found approximately |177,00(( cash stolen In the theft of thirty-one packages of registered mall here last Friday, was tho only person held In custody hero tonight. Four other men, apprehended on suspicion of complicty in the rob¬ bery, were released after being questioned. \
Approximately 1100.000 was re¬ covered at the Kyle home, where it 4a8 concealed in an egg crate, and about $76,000 and $1,600, respect ively. In two garages, of which Kyle is part owner.
