BIDS OPENED FOR HIGH
SCHOOL ^^DITION

Monday afternoon, in the direc¬ tors' room of the Flora National Bank, the board of education of Har¬ ter-Stanford township high school, opened bids toj. construotion of the 148,000 addition to the present building.
There were fifteen bidders for construction of the building, and tbe beating and plumbing and electrical wiring bid separately.
Baird & Vail of Sumner, who are just flnfehlng the Christian church contract here, were the lowest bid¬ ders, $42,300 being itheir estimate. This was $1800 under the next lower bid and $14,000 lower ^^an the high¬ est bid.
V. P. Smith of Albion, was the low man on heating and plumbing at |9.o,'iO.
C«nnon & Fields ot VIncennes, Ind. had the low bid on electric wir¬ ing—$769.00.
In the Baird & Vall bid the board is figuring on making a few changes in materials In roof and luHide walls in order to bring ther total contract price lower, aa ithe $48,000 bonds la ,all the money they h.Tve to expend on the building, and the total of the three bids amounts to about $52,000.
The three above firms were given to understand that their bids were accepted, and contracts will be signed as soon as the board decides just how much of a change they want to make on material to be used. It is necessary to use all economy possible, still they do not Want ito cheapen constructiofi so mnch that the poorer material will result iu un InadeQuatQ building.

PARTY AT RICH HO.MK
The members of the Berean class of the Christian Sunday School were entertained at the home of Mrs. J. F. Rich on North Main street, on Wednesday evening. The house was prerttlly decorated In keeping with the occasion. Games-—shranirock hunts, potato I'aces, fea.tured the evening's entertainment and at a late hour a delicious repast was enjoyed. This consisted of green and white ice eream, angel, food cake and coffee. Attractive favors fn the way of sham¬ rocks.
The hostesses were: Mrs. Raymond Gibson, Mrs. J. W. Drake, Mrs. F. Gordon, Mrs. Newland Golden, Mrs. H W. Shriner, Mrs. R. H. Grant, Mrs Kd Loveland, Miss Jessie Hay- ward.

Richard¬ son moved his shoe repair shop Into the room vacated by Lujie & Brlssen¬ den Arthur Collins moved bis shoe shine parlor Into the Suggett build¬ ing, caeated by the John Payne res¬ taurant.
