SUSPENDS BUSINESS
On Wednesday of last ^eek, Mil¬ lard Weir, acting for Andrew Rus¬ sel, State Auditor, came to Rinard, and upon the examination ot the bank, gave notice to the officers and stoeklioiders of the bank that the Institution should be closed pending the restoration of certain assets It Boema that M. J. Michels, the cashier, had advanced accommoda¬ tion In the form of an overdraft to John W. Spence to an undue extent and had waited in valm for the said Spence to restore the money trom cash he expected to win on the Board ot Trade stock market in St. Louis. The amount of the overdraft together with very few minor losses constitute the cause for Mr. Weir's action in refusing to open tbe doors of the bank until this money is re¬ stored.
