Mlss Esther Lewis, representing the High School. Mtss Dorothy Wood, repfesenttug the Woman'a Clab. (These six Maids of Honor thiH each represented one of the sb public or community tnai^ltutlons ot our city.) ( — "The Malda ot Honor, having taken their placee facing eacb other in front of the Queen's throne, the Her¬ ald retired and escorted the Queen of Flora—MIbs Virginia Mann, to the throne. Prot. O. O. Lewis, Master ot Cere- with history and future prophecy as to what "Flora, *he Quaen City uf ^iPypt," "The Gateway to Southera Illinois," had accomplished by her cltlaena of vision and the bright proa¬ peets under the guiding "Star of Hope—Progreaa", tbat awaited the ateady upward climb to community uplift morally, spiritually, materlallv Prof. Lewis also spoke of the Inces¬ sant, wonderful work being accom¬ plished by fhe alx community organl- nonnced unlveraally pleasing ani ratlana represented by the six MaH-s profltable by those fortunate enough , •>' Honor, to be present.
