This mornlns about 10: SO, Leslie Klrkpatrick, 10-jrear-old son of Mr. and Hrs. A. Klrkpatrick, was drown¬ ed ta the B. * O. reserrolr. The tiody was recorered, bjr Ike Etchason and was remored to the Hancock Tiuteral Home, where an Inquest will he held this afternoon.
It has been dlffleott to set par ticulars of the drownlnc, but we -understand Leslie and two other boys were In bathing near the dam and Leslie, who could not swim, got be- 70Bd his depth and almost drowned one of the other bors who tried to him.

Mrs. Rose Wood-Bennett was the -charming bosteta to a coterie of friends, when she entertained with an unusually interesting psrtjr at her home on North Main street, Friday last.

Mrs. Bennett was assisted in dis¬ pensing the hospitality of this lorely party by her mother, Mrs. W. B. Wood, and sister, Dorothy, and Miss Katherlne Rieketts.

Wednesday erening was the scene %tt a delightful picnic when a group «f relatives motored to a cosy place Bear Clay City and spent the evening along the banks of the Wabash and «nJoyed a big out-door feast.

Under tbe stimulus of awards for Increased production offered by the maiugement of tbe Sexton Utg. Company of Falrfleld, the Flora braheh factory has made a great rec¬ ord.
Concrete erldence of the flne rec¬ ords made in the local factory Is the four large sUrer lorlng cups, giren the Plora factory and which are on display in the show window at tha Journal-Record office. Of the 16 lorlng cups distributed among the six factories. Flora won four. Tbese were giren on the four production points; Button holes, buttons. Joining front and inseamlng.

Four ladles in the Flora factory won indiridual awards in competition with 1600 employees In the six factories of the Company, located at Falrfleld, Mt. Vemoa, Orayrllle, Ol¬ ney, Salem and Flora. Each of the ladles received a gold ranity case with name engraved thereon and will also get a free motor trip later to all tbe cities and factories of the Com¬ pany.
The winners are:
Mrs. Allle Krutslnger flrst on In- seaming, baving made the largest daily average. Mrs. Krutslnger also drew the largest checks for tbe month of May of any employee of the six factories, tbe labor In tbese fac¬ tories being based on piece work.
Miss Etta Lee won flrst on Joining fronts. ,
Miss Msry Rlnnert flrat on hem seats.
