JRCH SOCIETY GIVES PARTY
last Friday evening the mem¬ bers of the Christian Endeavor So¬ ciety of the United Brethren church, gave an enjoyable social at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Helm in west Flora. Owing to inclement weather the crowd was not as big as was an¬ ticipated but a good time was enjoy¬ ed by those present.
Many novel features, including a fish pond, helped to entertain those i preeent, but the climax of the even¬ ing came when it was announced that four of the boys would stage a negro minstrel. The lads, Robert and Lyle Berry, Richard Howey and Oalon Clark, then appeared and for sev¬ eral minutes staged a black-face act which literally "knocked the audience dead." A neat sum was realized tor the society's treasury.
GREENWOOD RESTAURANT
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Greenwood have taken over th6 Taylor restaur¬ ant and are enjoying a big trade. In this particular line they cannot be axeelled and the publle knows it. They are not novices in the restau¬ rant business, having been proprie¬ tors of tbe B. ft O. restaurant, near the depot. We bespeak tor them a return of the splendid patronage which was theirs in their former eat¬ ing bouses. '
