A tew days ago the Journal-Rec- ord editor uas shown through the Ripley building In north Flora, which Dr. Oeo. W. Camnhell, the aaw owner, ts now remodeling tor aae as a hospital.
Dr. Campbell expects to o|>en the hoapltal on May 1. lie bas 17 rooms. In the building, and they have been rearranged, thoroughly gone over and made to look like new. The op¬ erating room will be on the second floor, northwest eorner. The heating plant and the plumbing' are prac¬ tically tlniahed and bat little re¬ mains to have the building ready tor oeenpaney. Dr. Campbell wtll hara three tratned nurses to begin with' aad ^III add three more as occasion demands.
The Ripley place occupies several aeraa aad ia an Ideal place tor a hos¬ pital. Flora baa long needed an in¬ atitntion of this kind and we are aare the people ot Flora and vicinity will give substantial apprectatlon to the hospital.
Dr. Campbell will continue his doVn town oftice and here will have his X-ray machine and Other modern appllancea tor diagnoses.

HARD BOAD ENGINEERS HERE
J. R. Fiedler, state hard road en- Chieer, Is In Flora, to oversee build¬ ing ot the Midland Trail state hard road In sections 10 and 11 east and weat of Flora.
B. L. Gllkeson, state hard road'en- glneer, who has been located at Lawrenceville, was in Flora Tuesday, looking for a house. He will have leharge ot the building of the hard road trom Lawrenceville to Salem and will locate here as the centrsi point as overseer.
Active work on grading, getting ready for the slab wfll be begun on the section west of Flora at once. It is planned to build this road through trom Lawrenceville to St Clalr coun- ly this year. •'
