This being the first nortUern trip, the scenery was new and impressive. Stops were made at Alton, Clarks- ville, Louisiana, Quincy, Hannibal and Keokuk.
The two hours stop st Hannibal wss enlivened by members ot the Chsmber of Commerce entertaining with an auto ride about the city, viewing the many beautiful public and private buildings. The most In¬ teresting and impressive scenes were the Msrk Twain homestesd. River- view psrk, Mark l^aln atstue, the Msrk Twain cave, which most of the bnpch went through with s com¬ petent guide.
At Keokuk the huge dam scross the Fsther of IVaters, the Immense locks snd power house, the giant ms¬ chinery were gone oxer with cour¬ teous guides who thoroughly explain¬ ed every detail.
On the return trip Mrs. 0. B. May- hail of the Lonifiikna Thnes. who ac* companied the party to Keolcuk, ar¬ ranged (or a trip to the (anious Stark Bros. Nurseries, two miles (rom Louisiana, and the Starks prov¬ ed excellent entertsiners.

When she mturned (rom s ride with her fiance, Mr. ¦ Lswrence Quinn, she found the house in darkness, on turn¬ ing on the light she found a Jolly bunch of friends to waleome her. The table was piled high with num¬ erous dainty gifts of china, cut glasK. linens, etc. A merry time ensued while the bride-to-be opened her gifts parcels.
