Place Tiiesday Afternoon
At. the home of Mr. and Hrs. Bid ward' O. Brydon, on Tth and Syca¬ more streets, April 20, 1920 at 2:00 p. m. occurred the marriage of Miss Hasel Ir^ne Conner and Warren E. Smith, Rev. Wm. Macurdy. paator of tke First M. E. chnrcb o&lciating in the presence of sixty guesta. The Brydon home was beautitui with ent flowers and masses of green.
Proceeding the ceremony Miss Lily Bradford sawetly sang "O Promise He", .as the last sweet note ended. Miss Mary Oonld struck the chords of Lokegrlns Wedding Mareh as the bridal party entered the parlor. The attendants as they entered stretched atreamers of green and white to torm ' an aisle for the bridal pair, who fol¬ lowed, taking their places facing the guests where they took their marri^ age vows. The ceremony was most impressive, the double ring ceremony being used. The fair bride was radi¬ antly beautitui in a charming gown of whtte georgette, her filmy wed¬ ding veil fallU^g In graceful folds, was arranged (ilgh, caught with ^ wreath of orange blossoms. She carried pink and white roses. The happy bridegroom wore conventional black. Mr. Tom McCarthy aeted as best man. ' Mtss (Georgia Brydon was a lovely bridesmaid in white carry¬ ing roses. The attendants were all In white carrying fragrant pink and white roses. They were members of "Karama" Club of which the bride is a- popniar member. They were^Mrs. Gladys Ferris, Mrs. Joslne Brlssen¬ den. Mrs. Lena Meyer. Misses Lucile Folts, Edna Marshall, Alleen Henry. After happy congratulations, the .'.Ipiests were served Ice cream and .JWktte cake by Misses Mary and Mar¬ tka Bowman and Pauline McCauley.
Mr. and Mrs.Smlth are well known and esteemed by hosts of friends,who have known thfm from childhood. Mrs. Smith is the daughter otyMrs. Nora Wilson of Flora. Mr. SmlA the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Smith, of Stantord township. Both have been eiftployed In the Balti¬ more ft Ohio offices here for «ome time, Hr. Smith accountant and Mrs. Smith clerk. The groom is a veteran of the World War having seen ser¬ vice a number of months in France.
The young pair were recipients of many gifts of beatlty and utility, a complete table service of Silver.many pieces of cut glass, linens etc. a beautiful array indeed. - Fnr traveling the bride wore a tailored auit of blue, with hat to match. They departed on No. 1. amid showers of rice and good wish¬ es of loving friends for St. Louis, from there they take an eastern tour Including Cincinnati, Cleveland, Nl- agra Falls. While at Cleveland they win be gnests of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Croft and Mr. and Mrs. H. L. 'Ver- nilion. They wtll be at their new bome aeon on 7 th and Sycamore atreets.

Mra. A. Li Johnson gave a miscel¬ laneous' shower at the Home of Hrs. C. O. David on Fifth and Main straeits last Friday evening, this be¬ ing one of the pretUest events ar¬ ranged to pracede the wedding day.

An alatant two-course repast con¬ sisting ot salad, sandwiches, pickles and coffee, pink and ireen Neapoli¬ tan cream and Angel food cake were served at-a beautiful adorned table Wltk-sukpointments of pink and green. A huge basket ot sweet peas and fem* waa the center decoration and attached to thts were pink and green ribbona extending to each gues(8 plate, eaoh pulled tkeir ribbon and Individual bouquets of sweet peas and ferns tied with ribbons were the tavbrs. The table was softly lighted with candles shaded with ptD4c and green coverings.
Guests ot the evening included tourteen lady friends, and a gala time was spent. Miss Conner was the recipient of cut glass, hand paint¬ ed china and hand embroidered lin¬ ens.
On departing the guests thanked the hostess who had arranged the merriment and wished Hasel all the happiness In the world.

On Tnesday the newly elected Clay eounty board of supervisors met in special session and organised. Elmer Harper, of Blalr township, and Dr. J. L. Bryan, of Xenia township, were nominated for chairman and Mr. Harper was elected on the flrst bal¬ lot.
SPECIAL SOHOOL ELECTION
A call for a special scheol election In the Flora grade district appears in this issue of the Record. It Is for the purpose of voting more money into the educational fund. Read the notice. ^ Further particulars will ap¬ pear next week. The election will be held May 1st.

Death visited the home of Mrs. Elisabeth Jane l«wto in Stanford township and claimed the mother ot Prof. O. O. Lewto of thts city, Mrs. Chas. Clark, of Stanford - townskip, and Hrs. Wm. B. Peake, ot Omaka, Neb. She paaaed away Sunday eve¬ ning, April 18, 1*20, about 6:00 O'clock. Mrs. Lewis had been in feebte health for some time, having sulfered a stroke of paralysis some¬ time ago and was again atricken last Friday.
Hrs.Lewls at the time of her death was 75 years old. Her husband, E<d- mund A. Lewis passed away In 1M2, and she continued to resi^ at the old home plare after his death.
She Was a member of the Harmony church from which place an impress¬ ive funeral service was held Tuesday morning, after which all that was mortal of this grand old mother was tenderly conveyed to the Kneff ceme¬ tery where by the stde husband sbe now rests In peace.

Another pleasant event of the n^st week was the party given by Miss Lily Bradford at her home on North Avenue last Thnrsday evenina. Ouesta ot the evening Included the "The Karama Club" girls, a popular group of young women of Flora. This affair was a "towel shower" given for one of their members. Miss Hvxel Conner, who became the bride of Mr. Warren Smtth thts Tuesday afternoon.
The bride-to-be was blindfolded /ind led to a room where she found a clothes'line stretched across the room, bangring from the line was a beautiful assortment ot towels.
Refreshments ot fruit ice cream and brown fruit cake were served. The table waa prettily decorated with red flowers and on the quaint place canto were painted n elotkes-llne knag witk terweia.

Brydon, on Tth and Syca¬ more streets, April 20, 1920 at 2:00 p. m. occurred the marriage of Miss Hasel Ir^ne Conner and Warren E. Smith, Rev. Wm. Macurdy. paator of tke First M. E. chnrcb o&lciating in the presence of sixty guesta. The Brydon home was beautitui with ent flowers and masses of green. Proceeding the ceremony Miss Lily Bradford sawetly sang "O Promise He", .as the last sweet note ended. Miss Mary Oonld struck the chords of Lokegrlns Wedding Mareh as the bridal party entered the parlor. The attendants as they entered stretched atreamers of green and white to torm ' an aisle for the bridal pair, who fol¬ lowed, taking their places facing the guests where they took their marri^ age vows. The ceremony was most impressive, the double ring ceremony being used. The fair bride was radi¬ antly beautitui in a charming gown of whtte georgette, her filmy wed¬ ding veil fallU^g In graceful folds, was arranged (ilgh, caught with ^ wreath of orange blossoms. She carried pink and white roses. The happy bridegroom wore conventional black. Mr. Tom McCarthy aeted as best man. ' Mtss (Georgia Brydon was a lovely bridesmaid in white carry¬ ing roses. The attendants were all In white carrying fragrant pink and white roses. They were members of "Karama" Club of which the bride is a- popniar member. They were^Mrs. Gladys Ferris, Mrs. Joslne Brlssen¬ den. Mrs. Lena Meyer. Misses Lucile Folts, Edna Marshall, Alleen Henry. After happy congratulations, the .'.Ipiests were served Ice cream and .JWktte cake by Misses Mary and Mar¬ tka Bowman and Pauline McCauley. Mr. and Mrs.Smlth are well known and esteemed by hosts of friends,who have known thfm from childhood. Mrs. Smith is the daughter otyMrs. Nora Wilson of Flora. Mr. SmlA the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Smith, of Stantord township. Both have been eiftployed In the Balti¬ more ft Ohio offices here for «ome time, Hr. Smith accountant and Mrs. Smith clerk. The groom is a veteran of the World War having seen ser¬ vice a number of months in France. The young pair were recipients of many gifts of beatlty and utility, a complete table service of Silver.many pieces of cut glass, linens etc. a beautiful array indeed. - Fnr traveling the bride wore a tailored auit of blue, with hat to match. They departed on No. 1. amid showers of rice and good wish¬ es of loving friends for St. Louis, from there they take an eastern tour Including Cincinnati, Cleveland, Nl- agra Falls. While at Cleveland they win be gnests of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Croft and Mr. and Mrs. H. L. 'Ver- nilion. They wtll be at their new bome aeon on 7 th and Sycamore atreets.
