CBING THEIR LITTLE HAMMERS
In this issue of the Journul-Roconl appears a statement from Dr. Geo W. Campbell^ correctln-? a false re¬ port broadcaated over Flora and Clay county to the effect that l>r. Campbell had closed the Floru iio'^ pltal and would leare the city. Dr. and Mrs. Cai-'t) ii h-vp located per¬ manently In Flora and he tells us he luts no thought of closing the hospi¬ tal or of moTing away.
Dr. and Mrs. Campbell are consid¬ ered assets to Flora by all falr-miiul- ed. progressive cttixens, and we can't understand how any one who can see strslght and think straight, would bs guilty of originating false reports concerning the hospital. This Is not the first time that erroneousjreports have been circulated.
Dr. Campbell came to Flora from Gary, Ind., spent bis own money in sstabllshlng one of Flora's greatest BSeds—a modern hospital. That the .bast citizenry of our town J^Jjehind the hospital was abundantly .evidenc¬ ed when thn city authorities Kranted the hospital free electric service for a number of years, backed by an in¬ demnifying bond signed by fifty of the best business men of Flora.
Wp Itnow the Flora hospital is a good thing for Flora and Clay coun¬ ty, and we know that every progres¬ sive citizen is hoping lOO per cent for Its success. We do not know the source of these faJse reports, but ws do trust the small minority who are using their tongues for the purpose of tearing down one of our best insti¬ tutions, at once cease their knock4ng and get onto the booster vai'.nn with the vast majority of our people. If you have been seeing through the green goggles of envy or the blue goggles of pesBlmism, kindly put on the glasses of "Progress" and see tho great things Flora Is doing and be¬ come an optimist.
We love to associate with boosters and we are glad Flora has so many, for this is our town, and if you don't believe Flora is the best town on earth, some of the boosters will buy your property—if you will price it reasonable, and then you will be free to move to some city you believe to be a better town, but bo long as you live In "The Queen City of Egypt" please conceal your hammer.
