Monday evening, January Sth, at 4:46 o'cltak, the members of the Flora Woman's Club celebrated tho twenty-first anniversary of their or¬ ganisation with a fine banquet, fol¬ lowed by a most excellent program. The anniversary dinner and program were given in the Christian church basement.
The dinner was served by the Christian church ladies' aid and the menu was up to their high stan¬ dard. Members ot the Club commit¬ tee provided table decorations of candlesticks with paper shades ot red ard white—the Club colors, and red crepe paper center strips^
Mrs. Frank L. Medley, president ot the Club, was toastmlstress, and she was pre-eminently gifted tor the po¬ sition.
Tbe program was musical, literary and reminiscent, and was given by some of our high class talent. A feature was tbe singing of new words to our state song, "Illinois", as writ¬ ten by Wm. J. O'Neill, husband of the first woman legislator, who has takci he^ place In the 1923 legislature.
At the conclusion of the program a flash light picture was taken.
Tbe Flora Woman's Club has made a tine record as a community organi¬ zation and Is now In a flourishing condition, ready and willing to add to Its laurels as an uplifting force In our civic life.
We have not the time nor space to mention separately all the good things ot the program, but" following Is an outline:
