At a meeting held in Chicago Oct. 2, attended by U. S. Senators Mc¬ Kinley and McCormick; Ex-Senator L. Y. Sherman, Republican National Committeeman; Walter Rosentield, Republican -State Chairman; Mrs. Joseph T. Bowen, Illinois Women's Member ot tbe Nationai Committee; Mrs. George R. Dean, Chairman ot the Republican Illinois Women's Or¬ ganisation, and tive avowed candi¬ dates for Governor: Edward J. Brundage, State Senator Otis F. Oreen, John H. Harrison, S. S. Tan¬ ner and tormer Lieut.-Oov. John O. Ogleaby, an agreement was reached by all to give their support to State Senator Thurlow O. Eisstngton ot Streator, Republican candidate tor governor in tbe primary convention next year.
Tbis action will probably eliminate all other candidates in the Republi¬ eaa primary tor governor ot Illinois, except Oovernor Small and Senator Beaington.
In the journal-Record of Sept. 20, appeared 93 names of Flora business and professional men who had sub¬ scribed for the- Community Street 'Fair fund. It was stated that some few business men Uad rafuaed to sub¬ scribe, which was tbe case. How¬ ever, all had not been seen at that time. They were attended by Miss Irma Reits and Wilton Shehorn. The groom is tbe son ot Mr. and Mrs. P. N. Smith, prominent Louisville people. He is a gradnate ot the class ot 192S in H. S. T. H. S. A young man ot Indus¬ trious babtta and well and favorably known. The bride ia a charming girl and haa a wide circle of trienda. She la the youngest daughter ot Mrs. Mlanle Adduddeli.
The brides sister, Mr*. L._W. Dew¬ hlrat, gave a dinner In their honor Saturday evening. The immediate relattvea were gueats.
The yonng coaple will make their bome for the present witb Mrs. Smith's mother.

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
Harold Coil was host to a jolly party of girls and boys at his home on East Nortb Avenue Tuesday even¬ ing to help him celebrate hb ttth birthday in a fitting manner. After the arrival of the guests inspection ot the birthday gifts was an interest¬ ing part of tbe evening's pleasure. Some Jolly games were played, atter which delicious refreshments were greatly enjoyed.

Charles Keith ot Rinard, a grada¬ ate ot the local higb school is play¬ ing half back on the Milllkin College football team and last Saturday In' a gaiae with Carthage grabbed a paas trom the certhage iiaar$erback on tbe latter's 45-yard line and scored a. touchdown. He also made several long gaina on line bucks and end runs. Sunday's Deeatur Review in an article concerning the game, men¬ tions "Reithy" as having played a stellar game. He was a member of tbe Flora football team wbea a sta¬ dent hore and is also a Jumper and sprinter ot more than ordinary abil¬ ity.
