Another one of the older reaidents ot Clay county haa been called by death. Peter Thompaon paaaed away auddenly at his home at Rifle Tues¬ day moralng of laat week. Mr. Thompaon waa a highly respected olUaan and waa widely kaowa, a kind, indulging^ huaband and father, al¬ ways of 'cheerful diapoeition. He was poatraaster at Rifle for twenty yean, until the rural free delivery raute waa established and the poetoffiee waa disoontinued at that village. Afterwards he devoted his time to hto work at kto stftra. Ha was flagman at Rifle for yeara and waa well known among the railroad employes to whom he was a trae friend.
Peter Thompson was born Marah tt. 1864, and died Nov. 1«, 1920. He was uaited ia marriage to Mlaa Matilda Allen in 187S.
