Three Flora Boya ot Famous Bat¬ tery Safely Home From Over¬ seas Wearing the Croix de Guerre
Glenn Adduddell, Lyle Brown and Otho VanFossen returned home to Flora last Kriday. They landed from verseason the steamship Kroonland t Newport News, Va., Feb. 19. rhey volunteered in St. Louis, and were assigned to Hattery H of the 5th ReK., U. S. A. They were in the lervice lacking but one month of two years, and were in active service in ranee 17 montlis. Battery H, of which these boys were members, Is ilstfngulshed as the first American .rtlllery command to flre upon the jnemy In battle, and during Its ser¬ ies was continually in tlie figliting hat at last forced the Hun to cry 'Kamarad." Before leaving France he French Government conferred pon every member of the Battery ihe Croix de Guerre, or Iionor decora- Jon, for individual bravery in the lecond battle of the Marne.
Flora is naturally very proud of her three young heroes, and this week is urarmly welcoming them safely home rem the war.
