The loeal Auxiliary'ot the W. F. M. S. held their January meeting in the M. E. church parlor, Tueaday afternoon, Jan. 6. Although a very disagreeable day, twenty-four tod¬ ies were present.
Mrs. Cox led the devotional. The president, Mrs. Cassidy, belag unable to attend. Mrs. J. L. Bradley, very ably presided and conducted the bus¬ iness meeting.
The corresponding secretary re¬ ported twenty-three subscriptions to. tbelr periodicu, "The Missionary Friend."
Hrs. Josie Lee was leader, the top¬ ic, reporU from the "Boston Jubilee Executive" meeting, at which the general society celebrated lU SOth anniversary. It was organised in 1869, with 8 members and now num¬ bers 459,498. Last year the society gave t8,006,t70 and haa over 1,000 miaaloaariea in foreign tonds. '
Onty three women out. of every ten in the Hethodtst church are mem bers of this' society. BfforU are be¬ ing made to reach the other seven and a goal has been set for this year for 1.000,000 members. This means that every Auxiliary must double its membership.
