At the fair last week many exhibils were worlliy of special mention. Now that it is over comments upon w hat was seen gives assurance that all who were present saw mucli of interest and fell well paid and pleased for the time spent. Tlie exhibit, it is con- ceeded surpassed the former years, especially In the agricultural and horticultural display. Much credit Is due Ferman Wildman for lliis showing, who for some lime before the dale of opening made a canvass soliciting tlie farmeisand orcliardlsts to bring in their products. Tlie ex¬ hibits in this department which es¬ pecially attracted attention from vis¬ itors were three large watermelons, by M. L. Hendy. Kerman Wildman and .lames Mc¬ Daniels had charge of this splendid display and arranged everything In j,^ arlistic and attractive way. Hut olds was nol all seen In our tlorfil hall. The textile department, school display, paintings by Miss Carrie Rider, and exiilbits made by many of our merciiants. The flowers shown, and in fact everything which helped to till the floral hall this year was a credit lotlie people who brought them, the fair management who provided tlie place fur an exhiiiit and the coun ty of Clay vThere the agricultural and horticullural dlsjilay was grown.
The display of draft horses, tine cattle, sheep, hogs and poultry have never lieen surpas.sed Is the opinion ot all who attended this and former fairs. Hear in mind that this is only the third exhibition given by the falra.ssociation; /me will follow each year and should grow better and of greater benelit tu ali our people, and it will, if all will do just a little t
