The heautlful tiatural grove, one- half ndle north-west of .\enia, Is an ideal pluce for such gatliering.s, and this with the well knowii hospitality of the people of Xenla. will make the reutdori for litl.'i a memorial one. Sixty old soldiers registered and eleven soldiers widows. The follow¬ ing ages given hy the old boys will serve to show that many of tlicni have lived Iteyond the alotted time of mans life, and the younger ones hid fair to do so. The register show¬ ed. The Rei'ord failed to secure the ages of the soldiers widows, but of course they wete all much younger than the men. The crowd was entertained by speeches on Krlday. .ludge Henson Wood of Ktflnghani being the principal speaker on that day. Ile was followed by Captain Longworth of Clay City, who Is always an interesting and entertain¬ ing speaker. Thos. S. Williams of Louisville, and R. S. .lones al.so .spoke In the afterniHin and Randolph Smith and Mr. Morris in the evening.
.Saturday wltne.s.sed a large crowd from nearly every part of the County and surrounding towns- Good speeches were made by Rev. Hamil¬ ton and ,lohii il. ilensun of .Xenia, and John«!. Kageyof Hluehaker.
Good order prevailed througliout and every body had a splendid time. The -Xenla Band recently organl/.ed and led hy Rev. Hamilton, the new Kaptlst minister, rendered excellent music every day and evening. The band received many compliments and merited all the good things that was said about it.
-Xenia is a tine little town of splendid people, tine homes' goixl schools, cliurches and large business. It Is a good placb to go to any time and when they advertise an enter¬ tainment of any kind, you may lje sure It will be a success.
