Speakers  Were   Present,   How¬ ever, and Nuch Interest Was Shown
The dairy meeting was beld Friday as per schedule. However, the threat¬ ening weather of the early morning liours prevented the stock display. About 10 o'clock Chaney's band lur- nlslied music for the occasion, after which the crowd repaired to the Opera House where addresses were made,
nen. ,1. H. Smllh, of Clay (ily, was made chairman of the meeting.
J. L. .lones, representative of the National Harvester Company, made a chart talk on dairying which was quite interesting and instructive. Not getting started on schedule time the speaker talked until the noon hour.
Waller H. Hennett, State Klre Marshall, wbo was booked for a speech, could not come and H. M. Urooks, of Paris, was sulistltuted In Ills place, who made a forcible argu¬ ment In favor of Woodrow Wilson, who should be re-elected to tbe presl- dencv of tbe United States.
A. I). Gash, next on tbe program for an address, was crowded out, ow¬ ing to the fact that the meeting started late, and also lieing billed for a DemiK-ratlc speech at Loulsvliie, it was Hie source of much disappoint¬ ment to those wbo were anxious lo hear him.
Prof. .1. I). Travis, expert dairyman Illinois State Pure Kood Commission, made a brief address, which was well received by the audience.

There was a political meeting held at the Casino Theatre building lasl night and (init« a grnxl crowd was In attendance. Mrs. Mary K. Duffy, of ('hicago, and L. A. Krown, of Kansas
