Property Tax Appeal Board Meeting
Held on January 15, 2008

Chairman Montoya convened the meeting at 10:10 a.m.
2. Approval of the Board Minutes for the December Meeting:
Mr. Gorski moved to approve the minutes from the December
13, 2007 meeting. Mr. Goral seconded the motion and it
carried unanimously.
3. Executive Director Report:
Prior to Ron's Executive Director's Report, Chairman
Montoya wanted the two board members absent from the
December meeting to be aware that we are not making any
changes to De Novo in our proposed rule changes.
Ron noted the following statistics for 2007: 14,403 appeals
filed (largest ever in one year); 10,696 decisions drafted
by hearing officers (largest ever in a single year, and up
24% from 8,104 in 2006); and 9,221 residential appeals
closed (compared to 6,331 in 2006). He and the Board
commended staff for the increase in productivity. It was
noted that every hearing officer save one had increased
their number of decisions drafted in 2007 over 2006.
