The parties of record before the Property Tax Appeal Board
(hereinafter PTAB) are The Pepper Residence, the appellant, by
attorney Patrick Doody with the law firm of Golan & Christie in
Chicago and the Cook County Board of Review.
The subject property consists of a 228,255 square foot parcel of
land containing a 41-year old, one-story, frame and masonry,
single-family residence. This improvement contains 4,577 square
feet of living area, three and one-half baths, a partial,
unfinished basement, air conditioning, and three fireplaces. The
appellant, via counsel, argued that there was unequal treatment
in the assessment process of the improvement as the basis of this
appeal.
In support of the equity argument, the appellant submitted
assessment data and descriptions of four properties suggested as
comparable to the subject. A brief from the appellant's attorney
was also included. The data of the suggested comparables reflects
that the properties are located within the same neighborhood as
the subject and are improved with a one or one and one-half
story, frame and masonry, single-family dwelling with between one
