Property Tax Appeal Board Meeting
Held on May 8, 2007
Springfield, Illinois
1. ROLL CALL: Carlos Montoya, Chairman; Sharon Thompson;
Michael Goral; Kevin Freeman; Walter Gorski
STAFF: Ron Messina, Executive Director
Steve Waggoner, Pam Monical
Chairman Montoya convened the meeting at 10:10 a.m.
2. Approval of the Board Minutes for the April Meeting:
Mr. Gorsky moved to approve the minutes of the April 17,
2007, board meeting with the exception of the recusal of
Chairman Montoya being added to Section R. Sharon Thompson
seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. (Mr.
Freeman had not yet arrived for the meeting).
3. Executive Director Report:
The next mailing of the board agenda and attachments will
include the minutes from the previous meeting. We have not
done that in the past.
A report was distributed to board members regarding the
impact of implementing monthly meetings. Recommendations
presented to the board state that PTAB continue the
schedule of monthly meetings as opposed to bi-monthly
meetings. A request was made to review this schedule six
months from now as a formality. A motion was not needed to
continue this schedule.
