1.0 Introduction
The Treasurer is issuing this Request for Proposals to upgrade our mainframe computer
and provide consulting services pertinent to the equipment implementation. The
Treasurer is seeking to upgrade our operating system to the most current release of
VSE/ESA.
Upgrading from our current mainframe will increase our processing power considerably,
allowing us to complete daily workloads well within our production window and allow
for substantial future growth. Migrating to a new operating system at this time is
mandatory, as our current version will no longer be supported. Upgrading hardware and
software at the same time, will alleviate the need to implement a development
environment on our current mainframe, and ensure production, as well as development
users, suffer no degradation in service through the conversion process.
