ORDER
By the Commission:
On February 17, 2012, Comcast Phone of Illinois, LLC d/b/a Comcast Digital Phone d/b/a CIMCO, a division of Comcast Business Services (“Petitioner”) filed a verified Petition requesting that the Illinois Commerce Commission (“Commission”) enter an Order protecting Petitioner’s 2011 Annual Report from public disclosure for a period of not less than two years.
Petitioner is certified by the Commission to provide competitive telecommunications services in Illinois. The Petition indicates that Petitioner’s 2011 Annual Report contains commercial and financial information that is proprietary and confidential, the disclosure of which to competitors could be detrimental to Petitioner. The Petition further indicates that because the telecommunications industry is highly competitive, it is imperative that public disclosure of confidential information contained in the Petitioner’s 2011 Annual Report be avoided for a period of at least two years following issuance of an Order by the Commission, due to the competitive harm such disclosure would likely cause Petitioner.
Since all facts necessary for the Commission to grant the relief requested are contained in the Petition, the Administrative Law Judge waived the hearing in this matter and the record was marked “Heard and Taken.”
The Commission, having considered the entire record herein and being fully advised in the premises, is of the opinion and finds that:
(1) Petitioner, Comcast Phone of Illinois, LLC d/b/a Comcast Digital Phone d/b/a CIMCO, a division of Comcast Business Services, is a telecommunications carrier within the meaning of Section 13-202 of the Public Utilities Act (“Act”)
