Public Agenda – Listen Up
The May 1 meeting of the Public Agenda Task Force is now available via MP3 format on the IBHE website. Comment on the meeting, the report of public needs and emerging themes, or the Public Agenda process at publicagenda@ibhe.org.
ICCB sponsors IT Faculty Development Institute In 2003, with funding provided by Microsoft Corporation, the Working Connections IT Faculty Development Institute selected the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) as one of 10 community college sites nationally to participate in a program developed to assure that information technology training for community college instructors is equal and competitive with the commercial sector. The 2008 Institute will take place May 19 - 23 in Springfield. WC-IL is designed to provide intensive training, but also offers sessions with key IT industry leaders and networking sessions for faculty to share best techniques in IT education.

HB 1434, which would give Harper College permission to offer two baccalaureate programs – in public safety administration/homeland security and technology management – was defeated in the Senate State Government and Veterans Committee on a vote of 5-4. The bill is sponsored by Sen. Dan Kotowski.
