a. Kraft Foods, Inc. #07-03035-C-3 (Kane)
Intervenors, City of Aurora and West Aurora S.D. #129, both originally filed with
PTAB on 6-5-09. A total of 90 days has been granted for the submission of
evidence with the latest extension expiring on 10-13-09. Both intervenors are
requesting an additional 90 days to determine the most appropriate way to
proceed and to secure appropriate evidence. The request further states that this is
a large commercial property located in Aurora and the appellant in this appeal is
seeking a substantial reduction in the assessment of the property. Property
consists of a one-story warehouse distribution building with 860,000 square feet
of building area. Appellant submitted an appraisal estimating the market value of
$30,000,000 as of assessment date. Total assessment is $13,679,281 reflecting a
market value of approximately $41,000,000.
b. The Sports Authority: #07-02847-C-3 (Kane)
Intervenor, Geneva C.U.S.D. #304, originally filed with PTAB on 5-11-09. A
total of 90 days has been granted for the submission of evidence with the latest
extension expiring on 8-25-09. Intervenor is requesting an additional 90 days to
research appraisal firms and evaluate the need for an appraisal of the subject
property. Request further states that the appeal involves a large retail building
and the appellant is seeking approximately $365,000 in reduced assessment for
2007. The subject property consists of a 43,393 square foot retail building. The
appellant submitted an appraisal estimating the market value of $3,700,000 as of
