Chairman Crist convened the meeting at 9:35 a.m.
2. Approval of the Board Minutes for theMay 11, 2010 Meeting:
Mr. Goral moved to accept the May minutes. Mr. Gorski seconded the motion and it
carried 5-0.
3. Executive Director Report:
Mr. Apostol updated the Board on the FY 2011 PTAB proposed budget. The proposed
budget (HB859) passed the House, with House Amendment 2 renaming the fund. SB
1215 was a Trailer Bill to HB 859. The Bill passed out of Executive Committee on May
26, 2010.
Mr. Apostol apprised the Board of PTAB's current staffing situation. Dianne Lerman (PS
II) joined the Des Plaines Office on June 1st. PTAB has three open Hearing Officer
positions in Des Plaines. The Springfield Office recent 75 day staff departures include
Barry Wood and Martha Bedford (Hearing Officers), Sandy Fagg, Sandy Bayless and
Cheryl Bent (Clerical Staff). These employees were replaced by Mary Chapman, John
Sanford, Marsha Miller and Carrie Dodson (Clerical Staff). He reported the 75 day staff
have done excellent work in assisting with processing the increased workload.
Mr. Apostol updated the Board on the Springfield Office space utilization. All the files
previously stacked in the hallways, Chairman's and Executive Director's Offices, have
