Road Construction on US 51 (Bypass) Southwest of Decatur
Work Starting August 23, 2010
Location – US 51 (Bypass) from south of US 36 to US 51 Business
The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that construction work will begin on US 51 (Bypass) from one mile south of US 36 to US 51 Business southwest of Decatur.
The work is scheduled to begin on the route on August 23, 2010. The work included in this section includes patching, HMA resurfacing and work on seven structures along US 51 (Bypass). US 51 (Bypass) will be closed to one lane of traffic in each direction as the contractor completes his work. Wyckles Road will be closed to complete work on the County Highway structure over US 51 (Bypass). This work is expected to take place in the summer of 2011. The contractor is expected to have all work completed by November 15, 2011.
Illinois Valley Paving, a division of United Contractors Midwest, Inc., from Decatur, Illinois is the prime contractor and Doug Rudolphi is the Resident Engineer for the Department of Transportation.
