Property Tax Appeal Board Meeting
Held on September 30, 2008
Des Plaines, Illinois
1. ROLL CALL: Carlos Montoya, Chairman; Sharon Thompson;
Kevin Freeman; Walter Gorski
STAFF: Louis Apostol, Eileen Castrovillari, Steve
Waggoner, Mauro Glorioso, Katherine Patti,
Laurie See, Jennifer Vesely
Chairman Montoya convened the meeting at 9:35 a.m.
2. Approval of the Board Minutes for the August Meeting:
Mr. Gorski moved to approve the minutes of the August 19,
2008 meeting. Mr. Freeman seconded the motion and it
carried unanimously.
3. Executive Director Report:
Louis reported he met with staff at both the Des Plaines &
Springfield Offices. Issues related to workload, staffing
and budget were discussed.
A management team meeting of both offices was held via
conference call on 9/25. Agenda items included case
review, workload, staffing, hiring freeze, budget and
legislative issues. Louis reported he would convene
Management Team Meetings twice per month.
Louis reported he met with the Governor's Office. They
discussed a number of PTAB issues. Louis recommended he be
