Property Tax Appeal Board Meeting

Chairman Montoya convened the meeting at 10:03 a.m.
2. Approval of the Board Minutes for the June Meeting:
Ms. Thompson moved to approve the minutes of the June 17,
2008 meeting. Mr. Goral seconded the motion and it carried
unanimously.
3. Executive Director Report:
As to staffing, Ron stated that due to union contract
requirements not previously accounted for in the budget,
PTAB will not be able to hire additional, part-time staff
as in previous years. He indicated that Jason Golden had
left employment at PTAB, and that a second employee, Paula
Wagoner, who had previously retired has returned as a part-time
employee. Further, PTAB has retained two temporary
employees to process the agency's ever increasing filings.
Ron explained that the agency is in receipt of a record
number of appeals from downstate counties as well as Cook
county. Projections are 5,000 appeals from downstate
counties and from 16,000-18,000 in Cook county. Due to
