Electronic Documents Initiative
Depositor Training
_________________________________________________
The following training sessions remain for the Electronic Documents Initiative:
Thursday, September 7th
Monday, September 11th
Thursday, September 21st, and
Wednesday, September 27th
Please take advantage of these training sessions to begin depositing electronic copies of your documents. This will bring your agency into compliance with Title 23, Part 3020.110 of the Administrative Code.
Register for training at the State Library’s continuing education Web site, www.islcleo.org. Click on the link View our calendar of events! to view all of the remaining training sessions. Each registrant needs to choose a password to use the system; your e‐mail address serves as your login.
The morning training session (9:30‐Noon) explains what to deposit and how to use the Metadata Generator to create metadata for a document and submit it to the depository.
During the afternoon work session (1‐4 pm), you will be able to grow accustomed to using the Metadata Generator and depositing your agency’s documents while a trainer is present to answer your questions. Attendance at the afternoon session is optional. You need only stay until you feel comfortable using the various features of the Metadata Generator.
Please register so that your personal EDI account is ready for you when you attend training.
To schedule a customized session for a group of your staff, please contact Anne Wendler with the Illinois State Library by calling 217‐417‐0495, or send email to awendler@insightbb.com.
